The Family History

1720 – The "Krone", first mentioned in history in 1720, was a year-round alpine pasture, which over time developed into a horse-changing station.

1836 – The first guests were accommodated.

1900 – At the beginning of 1900, the Krone was a post office, village inn with its own brewery, grocery store, agriculture, and the center of village life.

1980 – In 1980, we made the decision to specialize in families and predominantly use products from the local region in the kitchen. At that time a difficult situation, today a successful one.

1989 – Angi and Werner took over the "Alpengasthof Krone" from Angi's mother Sofie Burk and over the years developed and rebuilt it into a well-known hotel. Bertl Burk, Angi's father, passed away early in 1974 at the age of 59. He was a great initiator for Unterjoch and accomplished much (construction of ski lifts and the Bavarian Disabled Sports Home) and gave everything for his sport, cross-country skiing/combined. We decided to officially present ourselves as the first "Du-Hotel" in German-speaking Europe, based on the personal, family atmosphere with the guests.

1992 – The definitive breakthrough came in 1992 with the construction of the first apartment building with eight 2- and 3-room apartments.

1994 – Children's entertainment began with hourly individual activities, today it is 9 hours daily (except Sunday) with at least four supervisors.

1997 – Joined the then young Familotel cooperation.

1999 – Since 1999 we have expanded our offer with a masseur who visits us twice a week and pampers our guests with soothing massages.

2003 – Since 2003 we have operated our own beauty wellness oasis with massages, cosmetics, and great treatments with professionally qualified staff.

2006 – The apartment house Alpe Hörnlesee with eight apartments and the indoor pool were added.

2007 – Since 1989 we decided to keep horses and expanded this to a riding school in 2007.

2014 – Our eight 2-room apartments Buchlalp-Stuben were furnished in bright carved spruce wood from local forests.

2017 – Our youngest "child" is the apartment house "Rohnespitz", completed in December 2017, with eight spacious 2-room apartments and an underground garage.
